Welcome to the chair of Analysis
The Analysis research group at the Delft Institute of Applied Mathematics focuses on Functional Analysis and Operator Theory with applications to the study of (partial) differential equations, both deterministic and non-deterministic, arising from models in e.g. quantum physics and mathematical biology. Of special importance is the area of Stochastic Analysis.
The mathematical subjects covered include: spectral theory and variational methods; operator theory, including, in particular, semi-groups of operators, functional calculus and non-commutative analysis; harmonic analysis; probability theory and stochastic differential equations; representation theory, quantum groups and special functions.
Also the areas of Topology and of the History and Philosophy of Mathematics are present in the Analysis group.
