“This is the type of research that will never end: there will always be new questions and new applications.”

PhD candidate Chiara Gallarati (Analyses // Jan van Neerven, Mark Veraar) will obtain her doctorate on March, 31 with her thesis: Maximal regularity for parabolic equations with measurable dependence on time and applications.

Chiara: “We have developed an abstract method to obtain maximal regularity for parabolic equations with measurable dependence on time, with which we can study the regularity of solutions to evolution equations, like heath propagations in certain media. We can apply our method to concrete partial differential equations, but still in a very abstract setting. This is the type of research that will never end: there will always be new questions and new applications. I’ll be around the faculty teaching until the end of the quarter. After that, I would like to move abroad for a post-doc. Although I have never worked in the industry, so it’s an option I should consider too.”
